MHEDA Names First MVS Award Winners

logistics-852939_1280The Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) has named the first batch of recipients for its Most Valuable Supplier (MVS) award. The MVS program is an annual recognition given out exclusively to MHEDA-affiliated supplier member companies. Orlando-based Outsource Equipment Company, a distributor of material handling equipment and supply chain solutions, joins MHEDA in congratulating the winners:

    • Autoquip Corporation – Autoquip Corporation was founded in 1947 in Chicago and relocated in 1974 to their current location: a 175,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Autoquip has built an extensive design library of standard lift equipment – more than 10,000 models, with each one designed to accomplish a specific purpose.

    • Flight Systems Industrial Products – Carlisle, Pennsylvania’s FSIP, which was established in 1968, provides new and remanufactured electronic products found on electric and gas powered vehicles. The company also provides manufacturing services for OEM legacy type products to help limit the potential for product obsolescence.

    • Morse Manufacturing Company, Inc. – Founded in 1923, Morse Manufacturing Company of East Syracuse, New York manufactures ergonomic barrel and drum handling equipment to lift, move, and pour drums, rack drums, weigh and pour drums. Their products include drum trucks, drum dollies, drum palletizers and drum handling forklift attachments.

Achieving this level of recognition provides material handling equipment suppliers a reinforcement to their branding efforts, as the award has a strict set of requirements that must be met in order to receive it, including a commitment to business excellence.

“MHEDA members represent the best of our industry; companies that take the initiative and make the investments to be not just good, but great at what they do,” explains 2015 MHEDA President Mark Milovich of Lift Atlanta, Inc. “Recognition as a MHEDA MVS further demonstrates the member’s desire to shine above the brightest stars in all areas of running their business – both internally and externally.”

According to MHEDA, there are six reasons to apply for the MVS designation:

  • Demonstrate your commitment to the independent distributor and the industry at large
  • Use of MVS logo allows you to “brand” your excellence
  • Gain recognition among MHEDA distributor companies
  • Demonstrate a commitment to your employees and community
  • Validate your commitment to MHEDA
  • Affirm your commitment to continuous improvement

MHEDA is announcing MVS award recipients as they qualify, and says there will be “a few more” named in the next MHEDA Newsletter (as of this writing there are nine applications in progress).
